Balancing the Nervous System
By Resetting the Root Nerves
The Central Nervous System contains:
- The brain
- Spinal cord
Peripheral Nervous System contains:
- Cranial Nerves
- Spinal Nerves
The treatments offered by A Unique Approach to Improved Health focus on decreasing muscle and nerve pain by resetting the spinal nerves. The body has 31 pairs of spinal nerves, offering a superhighway of communication between the spinal cord and a specific region of the body. Each pair communicates with a specific set of muscle fibers.
Viewing the nervous system as a highway for communication between the brain and body gives us an understanding of what happens when the highway is congested and communication is sluggish.
When information between the brain and body has been disrupted, the expected action and reaction is affected, potentially resulting in weaker muscle response.
Restoring communication by clearing the congested highway is accomplished by resetting the involved root nerve. The nerve can be reset when each of its muscles (no more or less) has been appropriately stimulated via manual therapy.
More importantly, when the nerve has been reset, the clogged highway is cleared and communication between the brain and muscles is restored. This allows the muscular system to return to a balanced state and structural alignment also re-balances.
You can also think of a nerve’s specific set of muscles as its phone number. When a specific set of muscles has been contacted, communication with a specific root nerve is established and the reset message is delivered.
With the phone number concept in mind, it’s easy to see why a full body massage is different from resetting a nerve root. A full body massage is the same as pushing all the numbers on a phone’s keypad randomly. No communication is established on the other end. A full body massage is contacting many muscles throughout the session, with no designed intention to contact a root nerve for the purpose of resetting.
